A competition entry for a boutique hotel perched at the rim of the Copper Canyon — one of Mexico's most dramatic natural landscapes. The 18-suite program is carved into the canyon wall as a series of staggered terraces, minimizing earthwork and maximizing the visual relationship with the 1,800-meter drop.
The structural system uses precast concrete frames socketed into drilled piers, allowing the building to appear to float over the canyon edge. Each suite has a private cantilevered terrace oriented to capture both the sunrise view and the prevailing canyon breeze.
